Anti-Corruption Campaign at Border Crossings: A Unified Message from Institutions

Sept. 30, 2025

The Agency for Prevention of Corruption and the Human Resources Administration organized a training for Customs Administration officers, dedicated to strengthening ethics and integrity in the work of public administration, in accordance with the National Anti-Corruption Strategy.

Through interactive sessions, participants discussed the legal framework for corruption prevention, the professional role and responsibility of civil servants, and worked on practical exercises and case studies dealing with ethical dilemmas from everyday work.

Special attention was devoted to officers at border crossings, who are often the first point of contact between citizens and travelers and the state.

“The Customs Administration has an important role in implementing anti-corruption policies. That is why it is important that we jointly promote the values of integrity and professionalism to citizens and the public,” it was emphasized during the training.

On this occasion, a new anti-corruption campaign at border crossings was presented, implemented by the Agency in cooperation with the Customs Administration and the Ministry of Interior. The goal of the campaign is clear: to send the message that institutions act jointly, protect the values of integrity, and work in the interest of a society free from corruption.

The training was conducted by Maja Karas Bošković, Coordinator of the Sector for Conducting Proceedings within the Competence of the Agency, and Milena Kustudić, Adviser in the Department for Analytics and International Cooperation of the Agency.

The APC will continue to implement integrity-strengthening programs in high-risk sectors through trainings, consultations, and targeted information campaigns.
