The European Partners Against Corruption (EPAC) and the European Anti-Corruption Contact Points Network (EACN) are independent forums for practitioners, united in the common goal of preventing and fighting corruption. While EPAC has existed since 2004, EACN was established in 2008, following the model of EPAC.
EPAC consists of anti-corruption bodies and police oversight bodies from the member states of the Council of Europe. The EACN brings together anti-corruption bodies from the member states of the European Union. Most anti-corruption bodies are members of both networks.
With the overall goal of strengthening cooperation, EPAC/EACN provide a platform for the exchange of expert knowledge and information in the fight against corruption and police supervision, they mutually help and advocate the implementation of international legal instruments, they also recognize the importance of preserving the independence of police supervision bodies and anti-corruption bodies in accordance with the basic principles of national legal systems.
Each year, EPAC/EACN organizes a professional conference and also has various working groups that operate throughout the year. Funding is based on voluntary contributions from members, observers, official international programs and other sources.
