Continuing the practice of cooperation with the non-governmental sector during election campaigns, the Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Jelena Perović, together with her colleagues, met with members of the Center for Civic Liberties (CEGAS), Center for the Development of Non-Governmental Organizations (CRNVO), Center for Civic Education (CGO), and Center for Monitoring and Research (CeMI).

The representatives of the Agency informed the interlocutors about the activities that this institution undertakes in the control and supervision of the campaign for the upcoming presidential elections.

Once again, it was emphasized that the biggest challenges in this area are related to ambiguities and deficiencies in the legislative framework. In this regard, the Agency expects strong support from the NGO sector in order to jointly influence the reform of the electoral legislation.

It was emphasized that the preventive anti-corruption institution, by consistent adherence to legal norms and professional standards, will make a full contribution to the transparency, legality, and credibility of the electoral process, to which non-governmental organizations can significantly contribute, especially through forwarding citizens' complaints about observed irregularities.
