APC participated in the 21st Annual Conference and General Assembly of the European Partners against Corruption within the Organization of European Partners against Corruption (EPAC - EACN)

APC Council member Goranka Vučinić and Council secretary Aleksandra Vojinović participated in the work of the 21st Annual Conference and General Assembly of European Partners Against Corruption within the European Partners Against Corruption Organization (EPAC/EACN), which were held on November 23 and 24, 2022 in Chisinau, organized by the National Anti-Corruption Center of Moldova.

The event brought together 130 representatives of anti-corruption institutions from 24 member states of the Council of Europe, as well as representatives of international institutions (OECD, GRECO, EUROPOL, EUROJUST, EPPO, Interpol, etc.) and ended with the award to the Anti-Corruption School of Ukraine for the most innovative project for the prevention and fight against corruption in 2022.

The two-day event, which represents an important platform for expert discussions and exchanges between members of the EPAC/EACN network and observers, was opened by the President of Moldova, Maja Sandu, after which the participants were addressed by speakers from numerous countries and international organizations.

After the presentation, two panels were held (on investigations of high-level corruption crimes, and on international cooperation and data exchange), and then two parallel workshops (on confiscation of the proceeds of crime, as well as on risk assessment and prevention of corruption).

The event traditionally ended with the EPAC/EACN General Assembly, where the joining of new members of the EPAC/EACN network was welcomed and the Chisinau Declaration was adopted.

In the ceremonial part of the conference, the organizers awarded prizes to the best initiatives of the year in the field of the fight against corruption and police control mechanisms. The anti-corruption school of Ukraine won first place, in competition with projects submitted by Lithuania, Spain and Sweden.

About the EPAC/EACN network

The organization of European partners for the fight against corruption brings together more than 70 organizations from all European countries, it was established in 2001 and

is dedicated to solving cases of cross-border corruption, providing space for professional discussions with the aim of facilitating the exchange of information between organizations, with a special focus on examples of good practice.

EACN stands for European Contact-Point Network against Corruption or European Association for the Prevention of Corruption. It was established by the decision of the Council of Europe on October 24, 2008, at the Justice and Home Affairs Council, and was formally established on November 6, 2009, at the EPAC conference in Nova Gorica. EACN is an organization that deals with the prevention and suppression of corruption, and gathers anti-corruption services, agencies and authorities of 27 member states of the Council of Europe.

The secretariat for both networks is located in the Austrian Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption - BAK.
