In The Hague officially announced: Montenegro to host the jubilee 25th EPAC/EACN conference – stronger standards, a better state.

Nov. 26, 2025

Representatives of the Council of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, at the 24th Annual Professional Conference of EPAC/EACN in The Hague, officially announced that Montenegro will host the jubilee 25th Conference and General Assembly, which will be held at the end of 2026. This is one of the most important European forums dedicated to the fight against corruption and the strengthening of integrity in the public sector.

This is not only recognition for the institutions — it is recognition for Montenegro as a modern, reliable, and European country that is rapidly raising the standards of good governance.

What does this event mean for the citizens of Montenegro?

  • Strengthening international trust in Montenegro

Hosting this conference confirms that European partners recognize our reform efforts, institutional transparency, and clear commitment to the rule of law. This directly strengthens the international credibility of the state as an important factor for investment, development, and the opening of new opportunities.

  • Faster adoption of modern European anti-corruption standards

During the conference, Montenegro will become a center for exchanging best practices from the EU, enabling the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and other institutions to introduce more efficient models of oversight, control, and corruption prevention even more quickly.

  • Visible progress in the European integration process

This decision comes at a moment when Montenegro has opened all 33 negotiating chapters and is intensively working on closing the most demanding ones. Hosting the conference is a clear sign that the EU recognizes our progress.

  • A message to young people that Montenegro is a country of democracy, integrity, and equal opportunities

The EPAC/EACN network’s anniversary, together with the tenth anniversary of the APC, will be an opportunity to show that we are building a society where rules apply equally to everyone, and where young people can stay and advance in an orderly, modern state.

A double anniversary: 25 years of EPAC/EACN and 10 years of the APC

Symbolically, 2026 marks:

  • 25 years of European cooperation in the fight against corruption,
  • 10 years of the APC’s existence.

By hosting, Montenegro will unite these two anniversaries into a strong message: that we are dedicated to long-term, systemic strengthening of integrity, ethics, and accountability in the public sector.

Our goal: A conference that meets the highest international standards

The Agency for Prevention of Corruption has already begun preparations to ensure the conference is organized with full institutional transparency, the involvement of young professionals, and strong visibility of Montenegro as a regional leader in anti-corruption reforms.

Participation is expected from the most relevant European institutions, independent bodies, and experts, with panel discussions on contemporary challenges — from political financing to digital risks and integrity management in the public sector.

Gratitude to partners and confirmation of Montenegro’s European path

The Agency expresses gratitude to the EPAC/EACN community for the trust shown. Their decision confirms that Montenegro is a reliable and credible partner, that the reform process is advancing, and that our standards are recognized in Europe.

Montenegro is a member of EPAC, and the APC is the national coordinator of all activities. By hosting the next annual conference, we strengthen this role and open a new chapter in enhancing integrity, transparency, and good governance.

Montenegro — host of Europe, a partner in reforms, a guarantor of integrity.
