The APC conducted training in the Parliament of Montenegro

Dedicated to developing educational practice, the Agency for Prevention of Corruption today in the Parliament of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Service of Personnel and General Affairs of this institution, held training on reporting income and assets, prevention of conflicts of interest and lobbying.

The realization of the activities is foreseen by the Annual Training Plan of MP’s on the issue of respect and application of the Code of Ethics of MP’s for 2021.

Jasmina Maraš, Head of the Department for Verification of Data on Income and Assets of Public Officials, and Stefan Radunović, Head of the Department for Prevention of Conflict of Interest of Public Officials, presented the practice, procedures and results of implementing legal obligations regarding reporting on income and assets of public officials, prevention of conflicts of interest in performing public functions, ethical dilemmas that function holders may face when performing functions and ways to overcome them.

Marko Škerović, Senior Advisor in the Department for Integrity and Lobbying, introduced the participants to the main concepts of the Law on Lobbying and the differences between allowed and illegal lobbying, with reference to the duties of MPs as potential lobbyists in cases when they are influenced in the process of enacting regulations and other general acts. Other obligations of lobbied persons, lobbyists and legal entities that perform lobbying activities were presented, as well as the principles that all actors in the process should comply with.

The Agency for Prevention of Corruption will continue its proactive and educational activities, contributing to raising the awareness of civil servants about ethical values ​​and principles in the public sector.
