Monitoring the campaigns for the local elections in Nikšić and the upcoming elections in Herceg Novi were in the focus at an online meeting between the director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Jelena Perović and her associates with representatives of non-governmental organizations Center for Democratic Transition (CDT), Monitoring Center (CEMI) , The Center for Civil Liberties (CEGAS) and the Civic Alliance.

It was another in a series of meetings deepening the Agency's cooperation with the civil sector in order to strengthen the environment of electoral legality and credibility.

Dušan Drakić, Head of the Section for Implementation of Control Measures in Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns, informed his interlocutors about what the Agency had done regarding the complaints received during the campaign in Nikšić, which related to the official campaign, use of official vehicles and control of campaign financing by political entities.

In addition, the started activities of this institution on the control and supervision of the campaign in Herceg Novi were presented. Caring for the protection of the public interest, the Agency is ready to make a full contribution to the transparency of the use of public resources and campaign financing.

The practice of meetings of the Agency with representatives of non-governmental organizations dealing with election monitoring will continue in the following period.
