Council of the Agency for Prevention of Corrupiton

At today's session, the Council of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption adopted the APC Work Plan for 2021.

The plan includes 13 key goals through which activities and result indicators are presented in detail, as well as the time frame for their implementation.

The focus of APC this year will be, among other things, the establishment and intensification of cooperation with the competent state institutions and bodies, as well as with non-governmental organizations dealing with the fight against corruption.

Bearing in mind that in 2021 it is planned to hold local elections in certain municipalities, the Agency's capacities will be largely focused on performing tasks within this part of its competencies, i.e full realization of the goal of strengthening the integrity of political entities and election campaigns through transparent financing and responsible use of public resources.

The plan provides a new goal - ensuring compliance with anti-corruption laws through the conduct of administrative proceedings within the competence of the Agency, bearing in mind the new organizational structure of the Agency, which unifies the conduct of administrative proceedings.

Also, with this Plan, the Agency provides that in all administrative procedures initiated ex officio, and on the basis of the previously conducted verification procedure, it will determine the violation of the Law, and will continue with initiating administrative procedures based on requests from natural, legal and unidentified persons.

In terms of ensuring the transparency of income and assets of public officials, as well as the accuracy and completeness of data in reports, this year's Plan provides for earlier deadlines for verifying the accuracy and completeness of data in reports on income and assets of public officials (I - IV quarter), as well as additional checks (II - IV quarter). In that way, it will be possible to initiate misdemeanor proceedings within the legal deadline of 60 days from the receipt of the report in which irregularities were noticed, and for public officials for whom these types of inspections are foreseen by the Annual Verification Plan for 2021.

This year, it is planned to further complete the functionality of the APC website, with the aim of making all data from the system, which are otherwise published and available to the public through various reports of the Agency, political entities or authorities, available through a single search system.

The APC Council will regularly monitor the implementation of the Plan, through the review of quarterly work reports, and thus analyze and measure the success of the implementation of all activities listed in the Work Plan.
