The Agency for Prevention of Corruption reminds all public officials and other subjects to the law that the submission of regular annual reports on income and asset for 2024 is mandatory by March 31, 2025. This obligation is not only a legal obligation but also a key mechanism in the fight against corruption and in strengthening citizens' trust in the functioning of public administration.
Transparency in reporting the income and assets of public office holders directly contributes to accountability and integrity in public service. By submitting reports on time, public officials actively reinforce confidence in institutions and enhance the integrity of the public administration system.
To date, the Agency has received a total of 344 regular annual reports, of which 297 were submitted by public officials, 46 by state employees, and 1 by a notary. This number is far below expectations, which is why the Agency appeals to all officials not to postpone submission until the final days of the legal deadline, in order to avoid overloading the Agency's capacity and the risk of missing legal deadlines.
In addition to regular annual reports, the Agency has also received:
The Agency also reminds all relevant parties of the amendments to the Law on Prevention of Corruption, which came into force on June 12, 2024. Under this amendment, upon the termination of office, a public official is required to submit an annual report for the next two years, by the end of March for the previous year (Article 25 of the Law on Prevention of Corruption).
