The Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (APC) hereby informs the public that it has abolished all previous decisions which interpreted that the functions of the president and vice president of a municipality and of the president and vice president of a municipal assembly are compatible with the function of an MP.

The repealed decisions are available on the Agency’s official website and will be delivered to all persons concerned.

We call on all public officials who currently exercise the function of an MP and, at the same time, the function of the president or vice president of a municipality, or the president or vice president of a municipal assembly, to resign from one of these positions, in accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Corruption.

The APC will continue to systematically review all legal interpretations in order to ensure legality, consistent application of legislation and prevent conflicts of interest in public administration
