Agency for Prevention of Corruption

Director

Dear citizens,

The Agency for Prevention of Corruption is accountable to you for its work. As Director of the Agency, I therefore share with all our employees a profound sense of responsibility to earn and uphold your trust every day. This trust represents both our greatest responsibility and a recognition that you see the Agency as a reliable partner in the fight against corruption.

I firmly believe that trust cannot be taken for granted – it must be earned through tangible results, openness, and a consistent commitment to serving the public interest. We are therefore committed to further strengthening the Agency’s effectiveness and independence, enhancing the quality of decision-making, improving the efficiency of case handling, identifying systemic corruption risks, and strengthening cooperation with public authorities and other institutions that play a vital role in upholding the rule of law.

Our work is guided by a clear principle: every case must be decided solely on the basis of the law, facts, and evidence, irrespective of the position or influence of those concerned. There is no alternative – only through such an approach can we strengthen the Agency’s credibility and reinforce public trust.

Montenegro is at a decisive stage of its European integration process. In this context, the strength, professionalism, and independence of the Agency are of particular importance, not only in advancing Montenegro’s path towards European Union membership, but also in strengthening public confidence in the State’s ability to safeguard the public interest. My goal is for the Agency, through its work and concrete results, to make a substantial contribution to achieving our shared objective – Montenegro’s accession to the European Union.

Corruption is a challenge that no single institution can tackle alone. Successfully addressing it requires a collective effort involving public institutions, the media, civil society, and every individual who believes in the possibility of building a fairer and more accountable society.

I therefore encourage you to continue making use of the mechanisms provided by the Agency, to report suspected irregularities, and to actively contribute to strengthening integrity in our society. Your voice matters, and the Agency remains committed to being professional, open, and accessible to all citizens.

Yours sincerely,

Kristina Braletić
