The Agency issued the Report on the control and supervision of the election campaign for the presidential election

In the course of the election campaign, the Agency insisted on full transparency in terms of the use of public resources and the transparency of financing of the election campaign of the candidates for the President of Montenegro

Agency for Prevention of Corruption issued the Report on the supervision and inspection of the financing of the election campaign of the political entities, during the election campaign for the election for the President of Montenegro held on April 15th 2018. The report was created within the legal deadline of 60 days from the date of the promulgation of the final results of the election.

In the course of the election campaign, the Agency insisted on full transparency in terms of the use of public resources and the transparency of financing of the election campaign of the candidates for the President of Montenegro. In accordance with the Law, a total of 31.732 report were published. These reports are related to the use of public resources during the election campaign, including 39 reports related to the financing of the election campaign of the presidential candidates.

The Agency controlled the collected documents and conducted 56 field controls. In addition to the field control, the Agency controlled media advertising, non-monetary contributions and thoroughly controlled all the report submitted by the political entities.

After the conducted control, the Agency found that the candidates for the President of Montenegro and the state authorities, generally, responsibly complied with their legal obligations, prohibitions and limitations and ensured the transparency of financing the campaign and the use of public resources. In the course of the election campaign no stakeholder submitted any complaint.

Bearing in mind all the above-mentioned, measures implemented by the Agency, achieved transparency and respect of legal obligations by the involved parties and absence of complaints in terms of possible violations of the Law, the Agency, in its Report, stated that in the course of the election campaign there had been no violations which would point to possible abuse of resources in terms of budget expenditures, social assistance, employment, the abuse of official vehicles and premises or other violations of the Law on Financing Political Entities and Election Campaigns.
