Participation of the Acting Deputy Director of the APC at a panel discussion dedicated to the improvement of legal solutions for the protection of whistleblowers

Recognizing the importance of cooperation with the civil sector and further development of institutional practice, Acting Deputy Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption Mr. Boris Vukasinovic participated in the panel discussion "Improvement of normative solutions for the protection of whistleblowers in Montenegro", which was held on Wednesday, July 28 online, organized by the Center for the Development of Non-Governmental Organizations.

Emphasizing the importance of whistleblowers as holders of a key role in stopping abuses and corruption, Vukasinovic presented the normative framework and previous experiences in the application of the Law on Prevention of Corruption, in the part concerning their protection.

The existing legislation has improved the legal status of whistleblowers, but has recognized the space for its further upgrading, and the adoption of clear and detailed guidelines for future interpretation of both, the foreseen situations and the subjects in the procedure.

Committed to contributing to the rule of law and strengthening citizens trust in public administration, the Agency for Prevention of Corruption will continue to encourage citizens to report corrupt practices, providing them with full institutional protection.
